Chosen by the Sun to be the leader of the Aravae--or Sun Elves--King Aquilan Fairlynn has done the impossible: caused the high fantasy beings to reveal themselves to humanity and engage in a war with the Leviathan, monstrous entities from the Under Dark. With the war seemingly won, Aquilan now faces the far harder challenge of ruling over a fractious crew of many races, now including humanity, an elder brother who wants his throne, and the haunting memory of a young man's face--Declan's face--that he has not done all he can to eliminate the Leviathan threat.

With everyone counting on him to walk many fine lines, the last thing he should do is fall in love with someone who is utterly inappropriate and potentially dangerous. But the hearts wants what it wants.

  • Just read that warriors of old had long hair that was a sign of strength and virility. If captured and getting the hair cut, was to endeavour to demoralize the warrior. The Romans introduced short hair cuts so that the soldiers were subservient to the leaders and in battle couldn't be pulled by their hair. However, love your long haired characters! ?
