DECLAN WILDE
WHO IS HE REALLY?
Declan was told he was adopted from Ukraine after a terrible car accident that took his parents' lives and his memories of all that came before. He's always assumed that this is why he isn't quite like other people in the small suburb of Chicago, Illinois. But would that explain his strange sensitivity to light? Or his adopted mother's last words when the monstrous Leviathan attacked that they were here for him?
Now with the truth that elves, dwarves, fairies, orcs and more are real--not to mention magic and monsters are, too--Declan's difference is growing. But while this should make Declan's difference more acceptable, it makes it more dangerous instead. For nothing Declan can do is similar to even the specialness of the high fantasy beings that now populate the formerly human world.
He's stronger, faster, able to kill the Leviathan with a simple kitchen knife and sunlight hurts him. In a world now ruled by the Sun Elves, can a person who can't bear the light be trusted?
