Help Me Build Some Dragons!

I like this character! Gotta love those tall, dark, handsome types! Although It might be hard to find a tall Aztec. Having visited Mexico a few times I can tell you the true natives (not Aztecs of course but natives of that region) are super tiny! And I'm 5 foot so when I some someones little that's saying something. lol Maybe he was freakishly tall for his time? It would probably have made him seem godlike or a great warrior which would have added to his vanity I'm sure!

Also if you go onto google and type in 'raythe reign blog' the first link is to the old blog. A bit late but it might save some time shifting through old emails if you have to grab another old blog post!

I know they are naturally petite but I was employing a bit of artistic licence! Plus sorting through my old emails helped me delete the crap I should have got rid of ages ago

This is so much better than the samurai one someone else posted for a Japanese dragon. It's not a stereotype, and it's still grounded in references to Japanese culture. This dragon is rocking the j-beats scene. It makes this Japanese degree holder happy. I can also see this dragon being legitimately "into" Caden and flirting up a storm (heh, puns...).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF DRAGON: Beathan’s scales shimmer from the tip of his nose down to the black furred tail in emerald greens, various flecks of blue, turquoise and purples. The color mostly reminds one of a peacock softly blended to one single scales, and the colors vary from which direction Beathan is viewed. Bea’s eyes are bright and filled with curiosity with a pale turquoise and flecks of gold shining with interests in everything around Bea. Horns adorn Beathan’s head but like his claws they are deeper color green, even the folds of his wigs are a deep forest like color. On Bea’s tail at the end there is longer fur or hair that is soft and silky.

Bedros is quite logical, he thinks through the problems looking for the best solution that would maximize either gain for them or their homes, he also tries to minimize loss both in life and in wealth. This also makes it easier to tell Xipilli to think more rationally instead of being gun ho about his beliefs. He however puts up with the children thing, he thinks its pointless and there isn't enough gain from it.

The Twins opened a wing of their massive home to orphans and children who couldn’t get the medical care they needed in their home land. 1. Dragon King or Queen Name: Dragon King Amethyst (a beautiful but hard purple crystal)

2. Name of Spirit: Andesite (a cold, gray rock)

3. Coloring of Dragon: Gray. Appears to be made of stone, with bits of crystal that shine when caught by sunlight.

4. Size of Dragon (Small, Medium, Large, Titanic): Large. It is blocky with a square jaw and sharp, jagged angles. *Do not pet*

5. Power(s): Stone. He breathes out rocks from his mouth to pummel his enemies. Additionally, he can turn others temporarily into statues, who cannot move but are still conscious. His large and hard exterior and immense weight make him very strong and difficult to hurt, but it also makes him slower than others.

6. Personality of Human and Spirit: Amethyst had a hard life as a human. His father beat his mother to death, and he beat Amethyst and his older sister. His sister, the only person who showed him any kindness, was sold to an abusive husband. When he was twelve, he escaped his father, only to be forced to sell himself on the streets for the next several years, and he was often raped. He was made to feel small and weak and had a fear instilled in him against fighting back.

Then one day his sister was brutally killed by her husband. Amethyst saw her mangled body and something in him finally snapped. No longer caring whether he lived or died, Amethyst charged his much larger brother-in-law. He grabbed a hefty and jagged nearby rock and smashed the man's face in with it, not stopping until the man stopped twitching. Fueled by rage and this never-before-felt sence of satisfaction, he carried the bloodstained rock to his father's house and did the same thing to him. He then went out to the streets and killed every man he could find who had ever raped him. For a little while, he escaped those who tried to stop him, but then they surrounded him, men much larger than him and carrying knives, while he still held that rock. He should have feared for his life at that point, feared the pain they would do to him, but he didn't. All he wanted in that moment was to kill them. Kill them all.

That's when his spirit bonded with him. He was suddenly mountainous, looming over the men who now looked like beetles. That first bloodsoaked rock was lost in a sea of stones he breathed over the entire village as he stomped on those nearest him. There were no survivors.

Amethyst never lived in fear again. Having witnessed immense cruelty from almost everyone he'd ever known, he felt no remorse for most of the deaths he'd caused, but he did regret that his landslide of stone had killed the innocents as well, particularly the children. He vowed from that day on to protect the weak by killing those who would do them harm. His spirit, Andesite, however, does not care about the destinction. It just likes destruction.

As the years went by, Amethyst learned that often the children he would save would grow up to be vicious themselves one day, and that most anyone would do terrible things under certain circumstances. His already jaded view of the world became even more bleak as he witnessed war after war and more unspeakable acts than he could count. Humanity changed over time, but only superficially. New technologies were developed, but Amethyst still sees the beast in people. He gave up trying the see the kindness in people centuries ago, having all but forgotten the love he once felt for his sister. Now Amethyst and Andesite are both very cold, hard, and remote, unruled by emotions. Still, they do not attack someone until they deserve it. Andesite would say that they all deserve it in the end.

When he learns there is a ninth dragon shifter and that they are to be someone's mate, Amethyst feels unexpected empathy. He knows that the other dragons will fight for the privilege of making this new dragon belong to them, enslaving them and undoubtably raping them. Amethyst feels his old need to protect this new dragon, and suprisingly, so does Andesite. He flies to King Valerius' territory to fend off the vultures coming to claim the new dragon for their own. He intends to offer this new dragon protection if they choose to mate with him, promising to never harm them. (And won't that extra territory be nice?) If, however, he gets there and the new dragon is just as big a jerk as the rest of the dragons (and why is he not assuming they're a jerk? How unnatural for him), then he will turn right back around for the comfort of home and leave the others to duel it out.

When he meets Iolaire, he is shocked. He immediately sees the goodness the white dragon radiates. It is sweet and wonderful, and Amethyst actually finds himself smiling at it, which Valerius is quick to point out is something he's never seen Amethyst do before. He never could stand Valerius. But he also sees that Iolaire clearly loves the black dragon king, and Valerius, shockingly, loves it back. Amethyst can see that Iolaire wants to stay with Valerius, and Valerius will protect it. Iolaire provokes such rarely felt joy in Amethyst and in Andesite, that they find themselves pledging to ally themselves with the white dragon against those who will want to own it, even though that means allying with the ever obnoxious Valerius as well.

7. Appearance of Human Form: Amethyst was considered small even thousands of years ago when people were much shorter. He is also breathtakingly beautiful. He would look soft and sweet, if not for the way he holds himself eerily stock still, and the cold, hard expression on his face. He stares ahead with no trace of any emotion in his dark grey eyes, hardly even focusing his gaze. He is extremely off-putting, despite his petite frame, and seems more a statue than human. In contrast to his demeanor, the clothes he wears are lovely, long flowing silk of pale color that shows off his smooth skin and lithe physique, knowing no one would dare touch him. He looks and dresses feminine. He never dresses warmly, welcoming the cold. He has black hair, feathered to his shoulders.

Appears to be made of stone, with bits of crystal that shine when caught by sunlight. 4. Size of Dragon (Small, Medium, Large, Titanic): Large. It is blocky with a square jaw and sharp, jagged angles. *Do not pet* 5. Power(s): Stone. He breathes out rocks from his mouth to pummel his enemies. Additionally, he can turn others temporarily into statues, who cannot move but are still conscious. His large and hard exterior and immense weight make him very strong and difficult to hurt, but it also makes him slower than others. 6. Personality of Human and Spirit: Amethyst had a hard life as a human. His father beat his mother to death, and he beat Amethyst and his older sister. His sister, the only person who showed him any kindness, was sold to an abusive husband. When he was twelve, he escaped his father, only to be forced to sell himself on the streets for the next several years, and he was often raped. He was made to feel small and weak and had a fear instilled in him against fighting back. Then one day his sister was brutally killed by her husband. Amethyst saw her mangled body and something in him finally snapped. No longer caring whether he lived or died, Amethyst charged his much larger brother-in-law. He grabbed a hefty and jagged nearby rock and smashed the man's face in with it, not stopping until the man stopped twitching. Fueled by rage and this never-before-felt sence of satisfaction, he carried the bloodstained rock to his father's house and did the same thing to him. He then went out to the streets and killed every man he could find who had ever raped him. For a little while, he escaped those who tried to stop him, but then they surrounded him, men much larger than him and carrying knives, while he still held that rock. He should have feared for his life at that point, feared the pain they would do to him, but he didn't. All he wanted in that moment was to kill them. Kill them all. That's when his spirit bonded with him. He was suddenly mountainous, looming over the men who now looked like beetles. That first bloodsoaked rock was lost in a sea of stones he breathed over the entire village as he stomped on those nearest him. There were no survivors. Amethyst never lived in fear again. Having witnessed immense cruelty from almost everyone he'd ever known, he felt no remorse for most of the deaths he'd caused, but he did regret that his landslide of stone had killed the innocents as well, particularly the children. He vowed from that day on to protect the weak by killing those who would do them harm. His spirit, Andesite, however, does not care about the destinction. It just likes destruction. As the years went by, Amethyst learned that often the children he would save would grow up to be vicious themselves one day, and that most anyone would do terrible things under certain circumstances. His already jaded view of the world became even more bleak as he witnessed war after war and more unspeakable acts than he could count. Humanity changed over time, but only superficially. New technologies were developed, but Amethyst still sees the beast in people. He gave up trying the see the kindness in people centuries ago, having all but forgotten the love he once felt for his sister. Now Amethyst and Andesite are both very cold, hard, and remote, unruled by emotions. Still, they do not attack someone until they deserve it. Andesite would say that they all deserve it in the end. When he learns there is a ninth dragon shifter and that they are to be someone's mate, Amethyst feels unexpected empathy. He knows that the other dragons will fight for the privilege of making this new dragon belong to them, enslaving them and undoubtably raping them. Amethyst feels his old need to protect this new dragon, and suprisingly, so does Andesite. He flies to King Valerius' territory to fend off the vultures coming to claim the new dragon for their own. He intends to offer this new dragon protection if they choose to mate with him, promising to never harm them. (And won't that extra territory be nice?) If, however, he gets there and the new dragon is just as big a jerk as the rest of the dragons (and why is he not assuming they're a jerk? How unnatural for him), then he will turn right back around for the comfort of home and leave the others to duel it out. When he meets Iolaire, he is shocked. He immediately sees the goodness the white dragon radiates. It is sweet and wonderful, and Amethyst actually finds himself smiling at it, which Valerius is quick to point out is something he's never seen Amethyst do before. He never could stand Valerius. But he also sees that Iolaire clearly loves the black dragon king, and Valerius, shockingly, loves it back. Amethyst can see that Iolaire wants to stay with Valerius, and Valerius will protect it. Iolaire provokes such rarely felt joy in Amethyst and in Andesite, that they find themselves pledging to ally themselves with the white dragon against those who will want to own it, even though that means allying with the ever obnoxious Valerius as well. 7. Appearance of Human Form: Amethyst was considered small even thousands of years ago when people were much shorter. He is also breathtakingly beautiful. He would look soft and sweet, if not for the way he holds himself eerily stock still, and the cold, hard expression on his face. He stares ahead with no trace of any emotion in his dark grey eyes, hardly even focusing his gaze. He is extremely off-putting, despite his petite frame, and seems more a statue than human. In contrast to his demeanor, the clothes he wears are lovely, long flowing silk of pale color that shows off his smooth skin and lithe physique, knowing no one would dare touch him. He looks and dresses feminine. He never dresses warmly, welcoming the cold. He has black hair, feathered to his shoulders. 8. Main Seat of Power: South America (or at least the southern or western half). He lives in Argentina on Mount Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Andes. His home is remote and hard to get to (for non-dragons) and the environment is harsh. Just the way he likes it.

I love this! I'm especially loving the thought that Caden could help the other dragons, too, not just Valerius. I'm certain Iolaire has care-bear powers! I'd love to see at least one dragon take Caden/Iolaire's side. Those dragons that aren't affected by Iolaire should be, in my opinion, a big red flag. (Illarion, I'm looking at you!)

I love this! I'm with elementalelf in that in like that Iolaire can help other dragons aside from just Valerius. I also felt for Amethyst for his harsh beginnings and I love how you tied in his bloody past (and rock!) with his dragon powers. Really hope we see a dragon like this appear in the story!

Well I would say that Cain is a loving easy going guy he could be your best friend but if you betray him he can turn into your worst nightmare. As for Draken he does not trust so easily his temper is bad but once you earned his trust he can be your friend and protector. The same can be said for Cain. They rule there territory with an iron fist but with fairness and honesty and integrity.

5. Power(s): Can control the wind and breathes a scalding mist/vapor. Able to mesmerize prey. Spikes on end of tail can inject a paralyzing poison.

6. Personality of Human and Spirit: Strong but often mistaken as weak due to appearance which she uses to her advantage. Has a general dislike for men from her father bartering her to others to pay any debts he owed and beating her if she tried to refuse. She carefully planned and prepared for escape by slowly stashing away a small amount of food, clothing, and weapons which consisted of a knife, a couple spear heads, and a blow dart gun with a few darts. Her father had made a trip to a town a few hours walk away which is when she made her escape into the forests of the Congo where they lived. Her father and a group of 4 other hunters went after her. She eventually killed them with darts she poisoned with some beetle larvae she found, her father being the first. Before she was able to get all of them, one of the men was on her and was subduing and beating her. She did not have the physical strength to stop him but fought as much as she could, it was then her dragon spirit came to her. She goes to see the white dragon and assess any kind of threat they posed. Caden befriends Jahara much like Rose. She comes to see that Caden is a truly kind, caring, person if not a little naive and needs to be protected.

Personality:
Anwar: Hospitable and generally good natured, but has little time or patience for fools. While he is friendly and generous in most things, if vexed he has a sharp lounge and sharper wit. He is as likely to help a friend as a much as a stranger, as long as his good will is not met with impudence or greed.
He can be vain, Beauty is his favorite thing in life. Beautiful people and animals. Beautiful clothes and architecture. Beautiful music and art.
He believes in good efforts being rewarded, and doesn't take kindly to swindlers or those who take joy in others pain.

Evren: Curious to the point of obsession at times. Wants to know how everything/everyone ticks. Or at least, whatever has currently caught their eye.
They love things that sparkle and can get lost in dappled sunlight or the glitter of jewels for hours if left to their own devices.
Evren and Anwar will occasionally argue when Anwar wants to give away some of their fineries or treasures, but will usually just give in and sulk before shrugging it off that it probably made whoever it was given too happy, which in turn makes Anwar happy and more patient with Evren's desire to deconstruct an antique clock for the 10th time.

Appearance: Black hair, deep tawny skin, a sculpted face, and a fencer's build make Anwar striking. To the point that few really notice that he's only just to the edge of 5'7"
Anwar is meticulous in his appearance and has little care for what defined as 'masculine.' His clothes lend to a traditional men's design in his everyday wear, but he loves the elegance of saris and has been known to wear them on occasion.
His main passion when it comes to his appearance is make up and grooming, and usually dresses in ways that accent that. His facial hair is always immaculate and trimmed. His dark curls left only long enough to brush his collar and frame his honey colored eyes. Those same eyes are always skillfully lined in kohl and gold, making them vibrant and peircing. His hands and nails are commonly adorned with elaborate henna and gold polish. He has a fondness for bangles and rings that are delicate and glittery.

Origin: Evren bonded with Anwar after finding him buried alive in the desert, half dead.
Anwar had been the son of a prominent merchant family. One night at a high society gathering, he overheard the sons of another well known family speaking rudely of a young woman serving them at a party. Anwar publicly shamed them, earning their hatred.

Concerned that a dressing down alone wouldn't be enough, he went to check on the young woman's household. He found the sons and a handful of their friends about to have their way with the terrified girl. While not really a fighter for more than fitness, Anwar threw himself between the larger, leering men and their intended pray. And was beaten to the edge of death before they buried him outside of their village.

Evren was drawn in because Anwar's thoughts were more prayers that the young woman had managed to escape in the tussle, than the worry that he was going to die.

Deepest Fear: Due to how his human life ended, Anwar is extremely uncomfortable in enclosed spaces and darkness. He can handle one, or the other, in small doses. Being subjected to both will cause him, and Evren by proxy, to have a panic attack and will make them dangerous to themselves and others in their desperate attempt to escape.

Sexuality: Pansexual. If you are lovely to look at and lovely to spend time with, he's enchanted, though not pushy. He has most certainly flirted with a certain Spinx and her current employer.

Evren and Anwar will occasionally argue when Anwar wants to give away some of their fineries or treasures, but will usually just give in and sulk before shrugging it off that it probably made whoever it was given too happy, which in turn makes Anwar happy and more patient with Evren's desire to deconstruct an antique clock for the 10th time.

Appearance: Black hair, deep tawny skin, a sculpted face, and a fencer's build make Anwar striking. To the point that few really notice that he's only just to the edge of 5'7"
Anwar is meticulous in his appearance and has little care for what defined as 'masculine.' His clothes lend to a traditional men's design in his everyday wear, but he loves the elegance of saris and has been known to wear them on occasion.
His main passion when it comes to his appearance is make up and grooming, and usually dresses in ways that accent that. His facial hair is always immaculate and trimmed. His dark curls left only long enough to brush his collar and frame his honey colored eyes. Those same eyes are always skillfully lined in kohl and gold, making them vibrant and peircing. His hands and nails are commonly adorned with elaborate henna and gold polish. He has a fondness for bangles and rings that are delicate and glittery.

Origin: Evren bonded with Anwar after finding him buried alive in the desert, half dead. 
Anwar had been the son of a prominent merchant family. One night at a high society gathering, he overheard the sons of another well known family speaking rudely of a young woman serving them at a party. Anwar publicly shamed them, earning their hatred.

Concerned that a dressing down alone wouldn't be enough, he went to check on the young woman's household. He found the sons and a handful of their friends about to have their way with the terrified girl. While not really a fighter for more than fitness, Anwar threw himself between the larger, leering men and their intended pray. And was beaten to the edge of death before they buried him outside of their village.

Evren was drawn in because Anwar's thoughts were more prayers that the young woman had managed to escape in the tussle, than the worry that he was going to die.

Deepest Fear: Due to how his human life ended, Anwar is extremely uncomfortable in enclosed spaces and darkness. He can handle one, or the other, in small doses. Being subjected to both will cause him, and Evren by proxy, to have a panic attack and will make them dangerous to themselves and others in their desperate attempt to escape.

Kay is able to use a version of the camouflage to let her slip unseen by people, or blend into a crowd by shifting her skin and hair color to a degree. (Such as having a light tan or darker hair when needed) Kay has a good hold of not only wind powers, but being able to use some minor earth abilities as well. (Such as creating sandstorms or creeping vines). I would imagine Amara having a venomous bite and Kay actually being well excelled in using and treating poisons.

Amara is much the same, valuing blatant and honest speak more than pretty words. She finds those that skirt around subjects distrustful and boring. Both can be quite sassy at times. Kay and Amara tolerate Valarius, but are not too keen of him because they don't know him or his motives. They absolutely despise Illarion.

Kay and Amara are in agreeance concerning Caden. They don't want to have a mate. Kay doesn't want to have any sexual bonds with anyone, and she sees this mating as a form of that. Amara regards Caden and his dragon as little more than a battery for them to use. Kay could see being allies, Amara just doesn't want anyone else to have access to that kind of power. Amara often will move to the forefront if she believes she knows a better way of doing things.

7: Appearance of Human Form: Kay is all of 5'1, and pleasantly round even though she has some muscle. She has long and curly golden blond hair, and bright hazel eyes. Her skin is pale with a hint of freckle across her shoulders and face. She has a bit of the classical beauty about her. She likes wearing greens, greys, silvers, and the occasional tie-dye.

I had to think on this for a moment. It would be awesome to have a more ace character seen in your stories, even if it's just a tiny glimpse. But feel free to adjust how you see fit. I'm quite enjoying your stories and everything leading up to this point is magnificent!
