In this short story, Justin Devereaux is obsessed with an abandoned Victorian home on top of Russet Hill. When his best friend tells him of tunnels discovered leading from the abandoned home to each of the houses in town, Justin is surprised. When she tells him that one of the tunnels opened up into her basement, he's intrigued. When she tells him that someone spoke to her from one of those tunnels, claiming to be the man who lived in the house on the hill, Justin has to find out more.
