Aidan Walsh

Aidan is a foundling. His adoptive mother, Anna, discovered him as a baby alone in the woods by her family's home in Devil's Ridge.  He knows nothing of his birth mother or father and doesn't care to.  In his mind, they abandoned him and he fears they had good reason to.  He's never fitted in anywhere.  But after Anna and her husband, Riordan, divorce, and Anna is out of money and options, Aidan, Anna and his little sister, Sarah, move back in with Anna's father, Grandfather Patrick, on the Ridge. That's when Aidan finds out that he is a Sidhe.  The Sidhe are a group of mysterious and beautiful people who live on the Ridge.  This description of the Sidhe convinces Aidan that he was thrown away.  After all, he is nothing like the people that Anna describes.  But then he meets Asher Vane, a leader among the Sidhe, who is determined to take Aidan back to his people.  While Aidan doesn't want to leave his mother and sister in the hands of Grandfather Patrick, he finds himself falling helplessly in love with Asher.

 

 

Asher Vane

Asher is a Dark Prince of the Sidhe, an elven race that makes the Dark Earth their home.  He recognizes Aidan as one of his people and is intent on bringing the youngling home.  Though he tries to resist, Asher finds himself in love with Aidan and doing things that he should not to please the boy.  One of those things in interfering in human activities to save Aidan's adoptive family from the depredations of the cult known only as the Clan.  These actions could lead to a terrible war.

 

 

 

 

 

Anna Walsh

Anna is Aidan's adoptive mother.  She found him in the woods on Devil's Ridge and guess that he must be the baby of the mysterious Sidhe.  Knowing her father hated the Sidhe, she got married and left with Aidan as fast as she could.  Money troubles after a bad divorce drive her back to her father's home.  She is horrified to discover that underlying Grandfather Patrick's disgust for her son is a forbidden lust.  She tries to protect her son, but her actions are simply not enough to stop all the dangers there are for Aidan on Devil's Ridge.

 

 

Sarah Walsh

Sarah is Aidan's adopted sister.  She loves her big brother more than anything.  She loves him so much that she's willing to go into the Dark Earth itself to find him.

 

 

 

 

 

Grandfather Patrick

Patrick is Anna's father and the leader of the cult known as the Clan.  He hates the Sidhe with an unquenchable passion.  He recognizes Aidan as one of them and, despite his unnatural attraction to the boy, is determined to use Aidan to start a war between the Sidhe and the Clan.

 

Kyranna Astrian

Kyranna is Aidan's birth father and is a Dark Prince of the Sidhe. He tried to mount a coup to take over the Sidhe, but he failed.  His hatred of humans is as great as Grandfather Patrick's hatred of the Sidhe.  He is said to have died after the failed coup, but like all things on Devil's Ridge, nothing is what it seems.

Kai Astrian

Kai is Aidan's grandfather and head of House Astrian. He long dreamed of returned the Sidhe to ultimate power in the Dark Earth by creating an being with ultimate magical power.  He encourage his son, Kyranna, to pursue his twin sister, Danya, romantically to fulfill this goal. Aidan is the result of this union and Kai is intent on possessing him.

Sevra

Sevra is the head master of the school of magic known as Tassen.  He has foreseen Aidan becoming his apprentice and he will do anything to make that happen.
