Seren Balthazar

Seren is a private detective cast in the mold of Sherlock Holmes and Aloysius Pendergast, but instead of the past or present, Seren lives on a future Earth where humans share the planet with an alien vampiric species known as the Kin. Chase Kane

Chase is always in search of adventure.  He chaffed under his older brother's benevolent restrictions until one day he decided to break free of them.  The mysterious Kin homeworld called Black Heart has been rediscovered and Chase is intent upon going there even though it is not yet open to human exploration.  Determined, he books passage onboard a Kin spaceship, only the price ends up being more than he can bear to pay.

Jason Kane

Jason is Chase's protective older brother.  He runs a multiworld corporation that sells Kin tech to the human populace.  He believed that the Kane position and money would buy them safety against the dangers of Kin vampiric appetites.  He was wrong.

Baran Xarestes

Baran is a Kin Lord who has fallen out of favor. He is also a member of the malignant Order of Shoath, a Kin Order that believes humans should be enslaved so that they may be fucked and fed upon without any pesky things like rules and rights.  Chase has the misfortune of coming to him for passage to Black Heart.  Baran decides to put his beliefs in practice on the young attractive human male.
