Paul Campos

Paul is a man haunted by the murder of his lover, Mark Slater, fifteen years ago by a cult that was never caught.  Though he vowed never to come back to Rosewood where it happened, he finds himself teaching English and coaching the football team at Rosewood Highschool. His heart has lain fallow since Mark's death until one of his students, Sean Harding, who bears a striking resemblance to Mark, comes onto the scene.  He knows falling for a student could destroy his career, if not end him in jail, but he cannot resist Sean.

But Sean's looks aren't the only thing resurrected from the past: the murders of young men have begun again and Mark's ghost appears to warn Paul that Sean is in danger.

Sean has adored Paul from afar since he started highschool.  But it isn't until his junior year that he truly has a chance to make his move on the handsome older man.  But their romance is not without obstacles and dangers from the fear of being found out to the ghost of a dead man.

What happens in this story sends Sean on his trajectory to become a police detective and face the Ydrath again in the yaoi novel, The Artifact.

Mark was Paul's lover when they were both teens.  His violent murder by a cult has haunted Paul for over a decade. When Sean Harding enters Paul's life, Mark makes his presence felt.  Will he let Paul go with a new love or will he hold onto Paul unto death?
