Aidan Walsh

Aidan is a foundling. His adoptive mother, Anna, discovered him as a baby alone in the woods by her family’s home in Devil’s Ridge. He knows nothing of his birth parents and and doesn’t care to. In his mind, they abandoned him and he fears they had good reason.

Aidan has never fit in anywhere, and dreams of a life that is more than what he knows. But after his mother runs out of money and options, Aidan, Anna, and his little sister Sarah move back in with Anna’s father, Grandfather Patrick, on Devil’s Ridge. And Aidan’s world starts taking a turn for the magical.

Anna Walsh

Anna is Aidan’s adoptive mother.  Wanting to escape her father’s tyrannical rule, she married and left the Ridge with Aidan as fast as she could.  But money troubles after a bad divorce drive her back to her father’s home.

She’s always known that Aidan is special, but what she doesn’t count on is that when other people see this specialness, they will try to take him from her.

Sarah Walsh

Sarah is Aidan’s adopted sister and she loves her big brother more than anything.  Coming to the Ridge doesn’t only mean leaving all she’s known in her short life, but it also triggers hidden powers within her.

Grandfather Patrick

Patrick is Anna’s father and the leader of the cult known as the Clan. He considers the mysterious Sidhe, who live on the Ridge, enemies.

He immediately takes an unhealthy interest in his grandson and determines to make the boy his in all ways.

Asher Vane

Asher is one of the Sidhe who are loathed by the Clan.  Possessed of uncanny beauty and a powerful crossbow, he enters Aidan’s life by saving it.

Devil’s Ridge

The story is set in a contemporary small town where the line between magic and the mundane is thin.  It’s a place where that noise heard in the middle of the night really isn’t the house settling, but a monster creeping up the stairs. Impossible beauty and unimaginable evil exist for those with the eyes to see them… and the courage to accept them.
